As previously announced, the initial release of results for Step 2
Clinical Skills (CS) has been delayed. The purpose of this delay is to
allow for administration of the examination to a number of examinees
that is adequate to permit completion of quality assurance, scoring, and
equating procedures. This work is nearly complete for examinations at
the Philadelphia and Atlanta centers, the first two centers to open for
Step 2 CS administration. Similar work is progressing for the remaining
three centers.
Reporting of Step 2 CS results will begin in early December. At that
time, results will be reported for most examinees who tested in
Philadelphia and Atlanta from June through the end of September.
However, it is possible that results for some examinees who tested in
Philadelphia and Atlanta during this period will be reported in the
weeks that follow. For examinees who tested in Philadelphia or Atlanta
in more recent months, reporting of results will continue throughout
December and January.
For examinees who tested at the Los Angeles and Chicago centers, the
reporting of results will likely begin in mid- to late-December. For
examinees who tested in Houston, reporting of results will likely begin
in early January. As with reporting for the Philadelphia and Atlanta
centers, the first release for each center will consist of results for
examinees who tested in the initial months of test administration for
that center; reporting of results for more recent examinees will occur
at later dates.
As previously published, a specific date for reporting of results cannot
be guaranteed, regardless of the date on which Step 2 CS is taken.
However, for those examinees who test prior to January 1, 2005, a high
priority will be assigned to processing results as quickly as possible
so that international medical graduates, who are required to have these
results for the National Resident Matching Program ("the Match"), will
have a good chance of meeting Match deadlines. Those who take Step 2 CS
later than December 31, 2004 are unlikely to have results available for
the Match.
After the start-up period for all centers is complete, it is anticipated
that results will be available for most examinees approximately 6 weeks
after test administration.
