EXPLANATION Please note that the deadline date specified for withdrawal or transfer requests is related to the release of Entrance Cards, production of examination material, attendance rolls, etc. All changes must be made prior to this activity.
(A) WITHDRAWAL/REFUND: If an applicant WITHDRAWS his/her application and requests a refund, $600.00 CAD will be refunded (the examination fee of $800.00 CAD less an administrative charge of $200.00 CAD) provided that the signed written notice of cancellation is received at the MCC office no later than the deadline date for withdrawals for the scheduled examination session (see Evaluating Examination Schedule), approximately 65 days prior to the examination date. The $200.00 CAD credentialing fee is non-refundable. No refunds are allowed after the withdrawal deadline date. Any candidate who obtains a refund and wishes to re-apply to the examination five (5) years or more after the initial application must pay the total fee and submit a complete new application with all supporting documentation.
When the MCC must issue a stop payment on a refund due to a candidates address change not being reported to the Council in time, an administrative fee of $15.00 CAD will be assessed and will be deducted from the original refund amount.
(B) TRANSFER:
(i) Fee: The fee to transfer the examination date OR to request a center change is $200.00 CAD. Payment must be submitted with the signed written request no later than the deadline date for transfers for the requested session (please refer to the 2005 Evaluating Examination Schedule for specific dates). Requests may be faxed or mailed.
(ii) Center Change: A candidate must submit a signed written request to change to another center, including his/her candidate code number, by the deadline for transfers (see Schedule for specific dates). The request must be accompanied by the required center change fee of $200.00 CAD. All requests will be considered and granted if possible, however, some circumstances (i.e. space limitations) may make a center change impossible. The decision of the Executive Director will be final. No changes are permitted after the transfer deadline.
(iii) Date Change: A candidate may transfer an application to a later examination date up to the specified deadline date for transfers (see Schedule for specific dates). The signed written request must be accompanied by the required transfer fee of $200.00 CAD and two (2) recent identical, passport-quality photographs with the applicant's signature and name printed clearly on the back if the previous photographs on record are more than one (1) year old. No transfers are permitted after the transfer deadline.
(iv) Maximum Number of Transfers: A candidate may transfer to a future examination session a maximum of two (2) times. If a candidate does not write the examination on the date scheduled following his/her second transfer request, his/her examination fee will be forfeited (no refund), and a new application and examination fee will be required in order to re-apply. If an examination is taken and failed, the transfer allowance will apply to the next application.
(C) ABSENCE: If a candidate is absent from the examination hall on the date of examination or wishes to withdraw after the withdrawal deadline date, there will be no refund of the examination fee paid, nor any portion thereof. Very exceptionally, a transfer to a future session may be authorized when the reason for the absence is a circumstance beyond the candidate's control and proof of this is submitted and approved by the Executive Director of the MCC. In order to be considered for a transfer, notice of absence must be submitted by the day of the examination (by telephone or fax) and original supporting documentation must be submitted for consideration within two (2) weeks following the examination date. If approved, an administrative charge would be imposed. The administrative charge of $400.00 CAD (which includes a transfer fee of $200.00 CAD) must be submitted with the request to be considered for a transfer. If the request is not approved, the initial application fee is forfeited and the $400.00 CAD administrative fee, if paid, may be returned if payment was in the form of a bank draft or money order. A credit card payment would not be processed.
