IAS and Civil Services

The Government of India has appointed a Committee to review the syllabus of Training of IAS officers upon their entry into service and to make suitable recommendations to the Government. The review committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. R.V. Vaidyanatha Ayyar, IAS(Retd.) has five other members, who are: Director, LBSNAA Mussoorie; Heads of two Central Training Institutions (by rotation); Heads of two State Administrative Training Institutes (by rotation); Head of the Tata Management Training Centre, Pune and Joint Secretary (Training) as Member Convener.

The terms of reference for the Committee, include reviewing the objectives, contents & utility of the Foundation Course, Phase-I and Phase-II of induction training conducted by the LBSNAA. The committee will also review the objectives and utility of the district training for IAS officers and suggest changes and improvements in the teaching methodologies and current systems for obtaining feedback.

The committee is keen to adopt an extensive consultative process and secure valuable advice and opinion from experienced political leaders, public personalities, civil society, administrators, State Governments/UTs/Central Government Ministries etc.

The interested parties may also send their views to the Joint Secretary (Training), DoPT (Training division), Block-4 Old JNU campus, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-110067 and to Joint. Director, LBSNAA, Mussoorie, Uttranchal or email to ayyar.committee@nic.in.
