MRCS Part 2

This information is very important for surgical doctors who are trainned in India and having MRCS inter colleigate diploma.

I am sure that all of you are aware about the current situation in UK.The MRCS exam is going to be a waste of time and money in 2 years time.

For entering the SPR training you do not need MRCS from 2007 if you have completed your foundation years 1&2 in UK.

From 31st December 2005 you should have CCBST(Certificate of completion of Basic surgical training) before applying for the SPR post even if you have your MRCS or FRCS.

Things are easier if you have a collegiate MRCS,FRCS or if you have completed your basic surgical trainning in UK in recognised trainning posts.

If you are trainned in India and you have MRCS I,then you have to take BSS(Basic surgical Skills course, submit a set of forms about your training and your institution and to pay 480£ for assessing your eligibility for getting CCBST

Only the UK institutions are there in the list of institutions in the online application form.

If you are trainned in India you have to apply under the category of non recognized posts (i.e Section B).

We still do not know the fate of people who do not have their MRCS and who are unable to find a trainning job.

For the people who want to be in India, taking MRCS do not offer any advantage except for making the Royal colleges richer.
