The thing is that the PLAB Part 1 is a very easy exam. I was so surprised at the content. It was a lot easier than the USMLE and also easier than my final exam in medical college.
Here is what to do for PLAB Part 1 exam.
You dont need to go through the books OHCM or OHMS even once.
Your strategy from day one ought to be to go through the EMQs and SBAs and see if you can answer the question.
If you get the answer wrong, and understand your mistake, then just move on.
If you dont understand the answer then go to your hand books and read that entire topic. By the time you are done going through one or two exams, youll have read 90% of what is essential and the rest is luck anyway.
If you were a detail studying student in the past, you need about 6 weeks to prepare for the PLAB i.e. for much more than a passing score.
If you were like me and a bum during your final year, youll need 8 weeks for a comfortable pass.
I would also like to add, that I am a really bad student. I have never passed anything in the first attempt except the PLAB 1. I took way more than normal to get thru medical school, and have felt like a loser through out.
So this is for you underdogs out there.
I studied for 6 weeks total, 3 weeks non-seriously (2-3 hrs) and 3 weeks seriously (4-8 hrs, mostly 4 though.).
Good luck to u all.
