It is really cruel and pathetic that the Government has resorted to this desparate policy of Reservations to sustain its political lifeline.[I wish to say that I am not against all the sensible means of support,even very minimal reservations, for all the progress in all fields for the deserving class of the socially backward people]. But this hazardous measure of unwarranted proportion candidly reflects the Political and administrative bankruptcy and total insanity of ruling Politicians. They have reached the abyss of misusing parliamentary privileges to devise most crooked means of reservations to buffer their failure in bringing about social progress of the deprived by sensible policies. This policy of lethally throttling and lynching the highly deserving merit pool can be done only by a class of political criminals and coward betrayers of nation with a highly selfish myopic vision.
I wish to present some reflections of this cruel policy which is destined to flatten the progress line of our nation and also the need to accelerate practice of more sensible and effective measures for development.
Reservation in education and employment,of any nature,as any person with some sense can imagine- in the first place is not at all a sensible option for supporting progress and it is the last resort to keep people Just motivated but not for adding any really long lasting quality by itself.If it helps it is for only a few committed people when granted once or maximum twice.Continuous and sequential favour is neither good for the person covered by reservation nor the society.
If they want such a huge motivation force let them increase the seats first before Implementing a mammoth concession in access to education .But not in schools, top centres of excellence like IITs and IIMs, where reservation will favour only cream of the reserved castes as also it limits the competitive spirit prevailing in such institutes.Planned Reservation in private sector employment also is strongly unwelcome.
Reservations will practically pull down the mark of competence to such low levels that the basic force of inquisitive learning is stopped at premature levels at each and every stage of learning -school,college,University and work.Quality education takes a back seat and glory of competent careers will become a tale of the past.
Today not only education but also competent careers require openness,coordination and continued learning .So,one can easily imagine the grooming of MOTIVATION FORCES in an environment which CONTINUOUSLY sets the standards of caste and practically low legal mark of performance for qualifications in education ,employment and in not far future for promotions .
IF THIS POLICY IS IMPLEMENTED ,SUCH A PROCESS OF INFUSING IDEALS CAN ONLY DIVIDE AND RULE THE NATION WHICH WILL BE ONE IN TERMS OF CONSTITITUTION ONLY.FORGET THE DREAMS OF MAKING OUR NATION SUPER POWER AND CALLING IT SECULAR ANYMORE.
Reservations in schools can[even if they dont do it now the bill has luxurious provision for this] make provision for caste based admissions .Then they have the ladder of caste and [ the practical fallout] performance marks below desired competence opened till graduation ,employment and may be promotions in all fields. Of course they just need to reserve cabinet and Prime minister positions for overall completion of the process which are presently not mentioned due to may be HA!HA!HA! YES IN THE NOBLE INTEREST OF QUALITY NATION!!!!.
This 50% reservation policy hardly gives any impetus for scaling the real and required heights of knowledge and skills as the children and even adoloscents upto initial years of graduation PRACTICALLY depend on competitive spirit for excellence.At the same time the general merit students are challenged with shrinking access to what they really deserve.The death bolt for quality becomes much more severe with inclusions of independent centres of excellence like Private sectors ,AIIMS,IIMS AND IITS.Any average person can imagine what happens to crucial projects when there is even 20%dilution in a team .
The social implications are even more devastating .The young minds know the caste before competence.They learn hate before harmony as majority even upto graduation remain totally focussed on academic justice and thus it is bound to influence relationships with Classmates,future pool of citizens who are supposed to cooperate and coordinate in a ha! ha! ha! SECULAR FASHION.
If reservations in education are used and hiked, with increasing social disease of backwardness due to failure of Government and even other reasons if any, we will have apparently uplifted people who are just Painless but harbour grave disease .That is Professionally active but Less competent/incompetent people from continuous reservation ladder from KG to PG .This is not only disastrous for society but also for the people covered by reservation as the chances are more that they donot see real progress in education.
Reservations in education and employment may give some benefits like financial and social access but at what cost?At the cost of sheer injustice to the deserving talent and most importantly incompetent development of the favoured as a result of multiple and sequential concessions in education and employment access requirements .In effecting selfish goals Politicians have been brutally successful in using the glitter of financial and social ends without reasonable competence development [remember reservations are at multiple levels in a continuous sequence] for advocating reservations .
Financial and social improvement should be furthered but surely not at the cost of denerving the personalities , education and employment.If the Government wants these let them introduce other industrial,agricultural or marketing policies like loans,lands,tax benefits.If the Government wants to favour financial and social upliftment with education let it do so with tuition waiver,food,clothing ,many more hostels but not with infecting practices and traditions like huge reservations which dig out the graves of progress in all fields as education and employment are backbone in every field.
Targeting education and employment,sectors based on competence ,with destabilizing forces like caste and provision for lax performances will surely sink the fundamental schooling and breeding units of quality like AIIMS,IIMS,IITS,Private sector .Thus it has also proved that our politicians are not only deprived of will for real progress but that they have sacrificed minimal love for nation in not desisting from destruction of real progress with such selfish and temporary measures of covering up. Finally it cooks up good for neither the reserved person nor the society which is forced to bleed its talent at multiple levels to sustain an unreasonable ladder of inappropriate support for deprived people.
Reservations need not be banned at once .Only highly exceptional cases like too socioeconomically backward people should get MINIMAL required reservatiion to graduate courses after SCRUTINY[ mockery for these days when anyone can get the Quota tag].This too should be gradually replaced with increased suppport by other novel means.No reservations after graduation or for employment in in the best interest of the DEVELOPMENT of person and society.
For Real progress the present system of reservation needs to be tapered slowly.BUT THE CONTRASTING REALITY IS ONLY A PAINFUL REGRESSION.
Real quality and real progress in education and employment is brought only by measures such as intensive coaching,free food,clothing ,basic supplies,scholarships,tracking the enrollment and dropout of deprived class students,courses aimed at strengthening their body and mind to cultivate courageous and competitive attitudes for excellence in life.The ground and apt time for this nourishing support for progress is primary,secondary and Pre-University education when the skeleton of the basic academic personality forms but not the reservations from schooling or in sensitive premier competence centres of nation and industrious private sector employment.These measures may appear tough but seeing the present dangerous trend of continuing age old taboos like quick fix reservations it warrants urgent attention.
Though some say that the lower socioeconmic strata operates more on the basis of caste and hence evaluation for deserving classes should be based on caste as it would give more relevant statistics ,it is not only very incongruent but also practically undesirable attitude for devising really healthy and effective modes of interventions.
We as a secular nation have to inculcate freedom and equality which can be done only through true development but not through eye washing assurances like reservations.Such measures will not only continue to mask the reality but surely will spit out the hidden illeffects of reservation on the reserved class as well as society which bled its talent to harbour the below mark performances at multiple levels. To precipitate and put it Reservations will do least good compared to other novel means of support and WILL SURELY DO LOADS OF DEFINITIVE HARM BY CREATING FAKE MASK OF PROGRESS which makes assessing our own status of development fake.What worst can happen than this.
PLEASE it it high time to resist this Unwarranted degree of denerving reservations and look for some real means of nourishing social ,educational and economic means of support like some highlighted above.IT IS BETTER FOR ALL TO VIGOROUSLY COUNTER THIS IMPENDING DISASTER.
