Aerospace Medicine

The Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM), Indian Air Force is the only Institute of its kind in South East Asia that offers a Post Graduate Degree (MD) in Aerospace Medicine. The course is of three years duration and is interdisciplinary in nature; taking inputs from diverse fields like medicine, physiology, psychology, biophysics, and bioengineering etc. The course has a mix of both research and clinical training. It is open to civilian students and service medical officers from Army, Navy and Air force. Three civil students and seven students from the Armed Forces are taken every year for the course. The admission is based on an all India written entrance examination (Multiple Choice type) followed by an interview for selected candidates, separately for Civil/Military candidates.


This Institute is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore Karnataka, for conducting the postgraduate degree. The minimum qualifications required for admission to the postgraduate course is as follows:



MBBS with minimum 55% marks.
Registration with State Medical Council.
Advertisement in respect of the admission will be published in all national newspapers in English, Hindi and the local language, Kannada. The dates for the entrance examination and interview will be updated on this website regularly.
