25% of the total seats in the above four Government Medical Colleges are filled through All India entrance Test conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi, 75% seats are filled through common entrance exam. Selection of candidates for admission to 1st year P.G. course in the above four Government Medical Colleges and Govt. seats in 8 private medical Colleges is made by a Selection committee constituted by the State Government. The common details for these for colleges are as follws :
Domicile bar : No person who is not a citizen of India and who has not studied in any educatinal institution in the State of Karnataka for not less than ten years at any time prior to the date of the application for a seat shall be eligible to apply.
Method of selection : The selection is finalised by the Selection committee which includes representation from the Govt./Private Medical Colleges, SC/ST and backward classes, State Directorate of Medical Ecuation, Principals, etc. The entrance Test is conducted which includes 200 Multiple choice Questions of MBBS level to be answered in 3 hours.
How to apply : Application form for appearing at the common entrance test can be obtained from medical colleges in the state or from the office of the Director of Medical Education, Bangalore on paymet of Rs.50(Rs. 15 is case of SC/ST and BT candidates). Completed applications should be submitted to the Principal of the Entrance Test Centre of the district in which the candidate has studies PUC (2 yrs.) course.
5. *Kasturba Medical College, Manipal - 576119
Affiliation : Mangalore University.
Domicile bar : As stipulated by the Govt. of Karnataka from time to time. Method of Selection : All candidates except the non-resident Indian and the management's quota are selected by a Committee nominated by the State Government on the basis of merit.
How to apply : Details of admission and application forms may be had during the months of May/June by sending a self-addressed envelope (size 9" x 6") affixing Rs. Dr. TMA Pai fundation, Academy House, Manipal-576119.
Admissions are open to the 1st year PPG course for the seats under Management Quota on All India basis. Other seats are reserved for Karnataka students.
How to apply : Prescribed application forms and other particulars regarding admission can be obtained during the month of June from the Secretary, Board of Managemetn, KLE society, Belgaum, or from the Principal J.N. Medical college, Belgaum on payment of Rs. 110/- (including postage). The amount may be remitted by way of Demand Draft or Postal Order in favour of Principal, J.M. Medical College, Belgaum.
6. Mahadappa Rampur Medical College, Gulbarga - 585105.
Reservation of Seats, Karnataka State candidates 50% (S.C.-15%; S.T. 3%; Socially and Educationally Backward Classes-28%; Backward Tribes 3%), Outsiders-50%
Admission Procedure : Admission is made on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination plus capitation fee.
How to apply : The application form and prospectus anc be had from the college on payment of Rs. 100/- by Indian Postal Order during the months of May/June.
7. *J.J.M. Medical College, Davangere-577004.
Reservation of Seats 50% seats are reserved for candidates from Karmataka and 50% for the outsiders.
Admission Procedure : Selection of candidates is made on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination plus capitation fee.
How to apply : Application form and prospectus can be obtained from the Principal on payment of Rs. 250 by cash or Demand Draft in favour of JJM Medical college, Davengere during the month of June.
8. * M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, Gokul Extension, Bangalore - 560054.
method of Selection : Admission to management seats (100) is made on basis of donation. Eligible and interested candidates should contact in person in the month Jan/Feb. to ascertain the exact amount of donation and reserve the seat in advance.
Application Procedure : Application form and prospectus can be obtained form the College on payment of oRs. 100/- by Bank Draft or cash during the month of June.
9. Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Medical College, Clin Road, Cooks Twon Bangalore-560005.
Method of Selection : Selection is based on merit cum donation basis. Donation amount can be settled personally with the College authorities.
How to apply : Application form and prospectus cna be obtained from the Principal of the college on payment of Rs. 150/- in cash or demand draft/IPO of Rs. 150/- to obtain form by post during the month of June.
10. Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, K.R. Road Visveswarapuram, Bangalore - 560004.
Method of Selection : Selection is made on the basis of merit and donation.
How to apply : Application fom and pospectus can be obtained from the principla on payment of Rs. 150/- during the month of June.
11. J.S.S. Medical College, Bannimnatap, Mysore-570015.
How to apply : Application form can be obtained during the month of June on payment of prescribed price.
12. B.L.D.E.A.'S. Medical College, Bijapur - 586103.
Method of Selection : Admission is made on the basis of merit in the qualifying exam and capitation fee.
How to apply : Application form can be obtained during May/June on payment of prescribed price from the Principal of College.
13. Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Tamaka, Kolar - 563101.
Affiliation : Bangolare University.
Selection : Admission is regulated as per provisions of rules of Bangalore University, and Medical Council of India. The fee structure and other regulations will be according to Government of Karnataka.
How to apply : Application forms are available during May/June in the College on payment of Rs. 110/-. Those desirous of getting application forms by post should write to the College Address enclosing a Demand Draft for Rs. 120/- in favour of Principal.
