Hi,
I am also a second year student and I personally find Walter Israel to be very useful for general pathology. What i find truly remarkable about this book is that it is very readable and easy to understand. Although the book is out of print for several years i am sure that one can find it in the library

Studying ROBBINS need dedication.its not totally exam oriented and hence writing answers in your exams would become difficult.........as a reference book it is awesome......

But for the exams of 2nd MBBS i would advice HARSHMOHAN....

Pathology Books
Well, read Robbins, as it will help make solid concepts and it is the most preferred and referred book for all Pre-PG exams...
But at the same time get Harshmohan and read the Haematopoietic Systems, tabulations and Laboratory findings of diseases from it...

Anybody heard of pathology illustrated. As the name shows it is full of pathphysiological flowcharts and is similar to Ramnik Sood's Illustrated pathology.

see debunshu................i must tell u one thing ................u just concentrate 4 mcqs in ur xams........................not on LQs...................ok.......................

imean to say u start one way preparing ......i,e 4 mcqs only.....,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this will help u in shrt notes also........................

ur aim should be pg entrance and nt the prof xams ok......................

guys guys guys,......patho is a very vast subject to read if systemic pathology included.
big robbins is almost impossible to finish.
what i can best advise is that read all the pages of general pathology from big robbins. and that too thoroughly. the chapters are
1. cell injury/ cell death
2. inflammation
3. tissue repair
4. genetics
5. hemodynamic disorders.
6. immunology (mainly amyloidosis, transplantation immunology & GVHD, and primary immunodeficiencies),...other topics of immunology u can cover from micro.
7. neoplasia.
..........the above topics must must must from big robbins only. 70% of all prof /semester qs can be answered from these chapters only. very beneficial for pg entrances also. i bet.
for systemic patho and hematology,..for prof/semester purpose, u may go through harsh mohan. after that, for entrances, study garg and gupta. i think the best. all the best to all. coming to walter israel,......its similar to guyton physiology. very lengthy but simple to understand. but ultimately, robbins content is essential. so why to do double work, study robbins instead of walter israel.
