Debate: Indian PG Vs USMLE [#]
is it worth preparing for usmle.....frendz plz suggest.....

Aim Indian PG Exams

if you ve done some
USCE,

you are rich,

Can wait for a couple of years,

and satisfied with a non surgical branch.

Then ofcourse its worth,

even a hospitalist earn around 2.5 lakh dollars per annum over there,

and working conditions are great, but then its pretty much lonely too.

I was there for 3 months last year at Phily, but i then decided to stay back at India. I'm frm UP , USA is nice but you would always feel that this
is not the american dream that you have always wanted.

Nevertheless working conditions in our country and pay scales do ^*&^*,
but i am more into surgery kind of things and its very difficult to get into surgery over there, and some times i missed India and my family too, for that i 've decided to stay back.

And Its you who's gotta decide.Good luck.

hey, my question is little innocent. i have decided to prepare for USMLE, i am in final MBBS year. if everything went well, i would be in USA soon for residency and then job.
But i am only child of my parents, and i am gonna miss them alot, vice-versa
so, i have to come back india after few years, thats possible.
but what if i don't wanna come back to india? my future will be better there than in india., so, my question is simple, will it be possible by any means that i could call my parents to USA to stay with me permanently ?

Yes, you can call your parents to stay with you. Initially you can apply for a multiple entry tourist visa for them. They would be able to stay for a period of 3-6 months at a time with you. Then later, when you settle down financially, you can sponsor them and call them for longer durations at a time.

Additionally, if they would like to stay for longer duration on a tourist visa, they can get a Canadian visa as well and visit Canada for a few days and come back to US.

That's really nice of you to think about them. Good luck

I am totally losing interest in USMLE since I posted this question. When I started to research, I found its almost impossible to get residency seat after passing exam from 2015. And now this news. So I am totally discouraged. God knows why people are still preparing for USMLE

Dear rockstardelhi,

I read some articles, they are saying large number of AMG passing this year, so no chance of getting into residency for IMGs

US PG not recognized by MCI
I am surprised, i was thinking PG from 5 English speaking countries(US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) were recognized by MCI

US PG is recognised as govt has published notification already.

though McI has not published a Gazette notification that's why it is not under effect

but I m sure that if u go to court then u will win

so for all practical purpose think it recognised

Hi,
Thanks you for helping students like us. You are doing a very good job. I want to give a try at both USMLE and AIPGME. My query is that "Are the format and questioning patterns in these exams same or different? Would I have to adopt different methods of preparation for them? Would preparing for one exam help in preparing for the other?"
