Hi friends: need serious study partner from 3rd yr
HI...  friends..... a good advice frm seniors was that one should clear your basics from first itself... if we start studin for pg from now onwards. it might help a lot . atleast dicussin mcqs from opthalm n ent n psm would help..... never understood why the medicine cource has been kept of so much long duration. but now i understand. it is knowledge... and ur basics which will help us get through the pg.. studyin from now would give us an edge to get along in these pg exams.... atleast by dicussin some questions here wILL get used to these mcq thing and whats wrong in discussin some important questions... say atleast one mcq per day...by each  ... MY seniors told harrison is the key to crack pg exams. for it cantains all ie patho,PHYSIO,anat, pharmac n medicine..... i dont know how much time it needs to read harrison. one year. two year.. dont know  but if we keep on dicussing atleast we will come along some very important questions.. ....and then after one year atleast things wont be that difficult for us as they wud be for a new comer"SO MY FRIENDS LETS DISCUSS N ENJOY OUR JOURNEY OF MEDICINE N HAV FUN DISCUSSIN MCQ'S....... i am a medico studying at bangalore medical college 3rd year and hi. to all ya guys roshan,ratnakar n naevus nice guys ...............
riya another 2 months left for ouur exams i m suddenly bounded with so much work of completing the records and getting them corrected ... i am goin to the hospital to get the minor cases and finish off my minor cases .... just now i have finished all my internals my average is good but not satisfied .......
one of my principles .if u want to make it big in the field of medicine u shud never go exam oriented strive for the knowledge . believe me i have never seen question bank since the first year and my percentages were 65 and 69 ..... in my third year i havent sat down with the medicine text books as such but i have come to get a good grip over the clinicals i have gone through almost all the clinical material in all the postings and certain cases frm the text book .............wait i dont even know that u r interested or not well if u r reply lets crack brains................
........ my ideal and the most befitting course in pg wud be ms orthopedics i just love that course ...........

yes... u r right third yr seems to be gettin hectic...... submissions.. n all... i am very much dedicated to this pg thing but dont know whether i really i hav that much knowledge or not ... hope i get to learn something from u .. i know knowledge is everything n i hav realized it.. if we guys study together it might make a difference... my fav subject wud be opthalm..radio or... gynae maybe...  stiil confused in life... anyways.. nice to hear from u... keep in touch.. best luck

hi Riya,
it's ice to know your thoughts about group study.
and it is absolutely correct that we should read harrison from now but you should not worry how much time will take it to complete?
because first u should read the important systems first along with symptomology.
then youcan take notes and have a group discussion systemwise along with mcqs.
i am telling you my personal experiences, what we have done last year.

good to know all of u r goin to start ur pg preparatins now.....i am studying in nepal.....we have a system called integrated basis medical sciences(ibms)....i am a third year student.....we do not have semester exams....its on an annual basis....i will try to list how this system proceeds...
1st year
1.musculoskeletal system
2.neurosensory system
3.community medicine
4.viva
(by musculoskeletal system i mean we have to study anatomy,physiology,pharmacology,pathology,microbiology and biochemeistry)
2nd year
1.cardiovascular system
2.respiratory system
3.git
4.renal
5.endocrine
6.reproductive ststems
(if we have any arrears we have to clear it by three exams otherwise we r out of the course)
3rd year
1.forensic medicine
2.community medicine
(we study gynaecology,medicine,surgery,paediatrics too but no exams for these in te third year)
last 11/2 years
we have 11 theory papers and 11 practical papers...........
this is how my curriculum works.....it would be wonerful to share wat we al know....i am right know working n wat to do for pg....will be very happy to share it with all of u(riya,rathnakar,rathore,naevus,newbie

Hey Ri......Can i call ya that buddy???Kinda liked that name....Jokes Apart hw far have u completed ur PSM???I have read hither-thither here n there kinds....Communicable n Non-Communicable aint been touched by the me till now!!!!!Some major topics like Obs-Pediatrics and Environmental Sanitation and other microscopically important topics r over...Wat is ur status there???ENT acc 2 me is jus a cake walk and ophth needs some quality time...PSM is only worrying factor here!!!

Hi there.... ya psm is difficult sometimes... but even i havent covered the major topics yet.. i hav finished with communicable and non communicable.. reading is fun in psm but problem comes in grasping the very easy sentences i.... so writhing down the answers in points are easy to remember. i guess thts wht i will do fer other chapters..... n opthalm is quite interesting......

some books are really imp;
for opthalm: parson's is a very helpful which helps in clarifying concepts.
some concepts can be cleared by scott brown for ENT, which helps in practical.
for biostat ap kulkarni is really good
these r my prsonal experiences.what i did for my exams.
so that ,all u guys can take the advantage of these books.

Hey y don v chalk out our schedules and fix up some dead-lines n dates for specially PSM starting frm this week perhaps..like r ur dates announced???Like our univ ppl say like the D-DAY ( ) is may 9th n sorts...wat abt urs???which univ is urs by the way???We shall plan out the work-schedule to its macroscopic best and lets start off our journey to "Destination Zenith" as we can name our group study....Couldn find a more rejuvanating n inspiring name...Daily routine coverage of topics with subjective analysis wil do hell lotta good 2 our "Project" buddy...rather than mailing.....if a bunch of us in this group can have a little conference on yahoo perhaps for about 30-40 min thrice a week covering all major chunks wil really help i feel....What do u feel my beloved medical troopers????But serious dedication and real good genuine conferencing is wat i expect frm the interested personnel entering into this zone!!!!Wat say ppl ????

OPHTHA, ENT,PSM must be completed this year in fullest. BUT can any body suggest which books we must follow now for getting the RATED TOPICS on each subject. so that we can stress more on them.
