hey there!!!
all seniors and experienced ppl out there who have alreday given mle r applyed for it
, hope you answer my questions...
1.i finshed my medicene from chinese university,in many threads i read and heard from ppl that one should get registered with ECFMGAND send the documents for seal and signature of the university and the deans,,,so as i finished my medicine from china do i have to send my doc before getting my id(8 digit no.) and also after i pay for application or only oness...
plz any bdy give me an idea of how mny times do i have to send my doc to my university and get it sealed and signed by dean bcoz as i have to go in person there as it in china..
and also becoz i am planning to give mle by feb or march....
2.do i have to tell my university priorly that the documents will be sent to my university for verification before hand ???
3.by wht time will the doc will be sent for verification if am giving my exam by feb or march so that i can inform my university ppl before hand as min of 3 mnts is required to apply befor exam date
am really worried bcoz am sitting here in india and makemy university ppl wrk there and cant make too many trips ormay be not even one to china as
my visa got expired
can ny bdy help me out with this and guide of how to goa abat it???
and also if at all for creating an id ,prior to it does anything else has to be taken or verified by the university???
if at all so i can create my id now and apply by decr or nov for feb slot???
hopinng somebdy could take time and answer my weired stupid questions, as they are very imp from view bcoz my med school is not in india....

how much time does an person will need to get matchedd, what are the criterias, whts the thing with externship,, and lors... give the insights, i am done with my mbbs, and how is working conditions in us now, i heard its bad for indian students, they are not getting matched cause of american domestic problems and its takes more than 2 to 4 or sometimes yrs and how can u avail for scholorships???????

yep....surgery is not closed for IMGs but it requires more work but not impossible.....

Sure, get some US clinical experience earn some LORs. get some research or if u have done any research during ur PG, make it international( i have no idea how to do it, but contact ur HOD they maybe able to guide u for sure)

Its not the no. of days or duration in USA which will help, I have heard thats its no. of LORs, no of contacts u make while ur stay... this is wat helps u to get residency

to bridge the gap after graduation for an old graduate,he may show some work experience... especially if he is doing some job in government sectors.... in such certificates he should present himself as medical officer or physician and surgeon..... help me ...clear my queries..... what a gap means here for usmle.....

gap is the duration between the day u git graduated to the day of ur residency applications.....usually if u r regular batch MBBS Pass out u get graduated a/c to ur degree in may-june then if u apply for residency same September then u r a fresher or u have a gap....

ans- gap is a gap try to feel it ur clinical like showing u r doing med offi ot physc or surg or whatever ....
score is other aspect not much to do with gap....score is nit everything u require lors US CLINICAL EXPERINECE (Not indian experience)...

Sir I'm an old IMG,passed My MBBS 18 years ago, planning for the MRCP UK exams. Do I have a chance of getting in an IM residency program and subsequently in a fellowship after MRCP and high scores in MLE? I've been in clinical practice through this period. Thanks in advance.

USMLE is basically constitute 3 steps
Step1- MCQs(consider our 1yr n 2nd yr subject apart from FMT)
Step2- CK - MCQs (3rd n final ys subjects)
CS- Clinical exam
Step 3 - 2 days exam
step 1 & 2 can be taken in any order u prefer. but for step 3 u will have to finish the 3steps(1, CK, & CS)
step CS n Step 3 are mandatory taken on US ground only

ma'am when first get registered, then when u decided which exam of three u r going to take first, fill our application at ecfmg.org. Then pay the fees, then u will have to take signature of the dean of the last attended institue of pg or ug, with that application they will request u send some docs clearly emntion in thee form like ur diploma photocopy, transcript from ur medical institute..
one they have accepted ur docs after that u wont need to them everytime u apply for other remaining steps...

Anyone got news for Residency statistics for 2016?
Hello all,
I heard from a friend who has matched for residency this year, that From 2016 USA residency slots for US grads are going to increase by 30%. so for IMG residency slots will be approx 10% If US govt dont increase total residency slots.
Anyone can verify this statistics?

I had a query regarding the online application part for the steps on ecfmg website.. the section where it asks regarding my clinical clerkships, we are suppose to mention all our clinical postings during our UG or just the internship part?? it asks about the period of posting along with supervising physician.. please help me.. thanx a lot in advance.
