Important Change in Criteria for SpR Training in Surgery in UK

This information is very important for surgical doctors who are trainned in India and having MRCS inter colleigate diploma.
I am sure that all of you are aware about the current situation in UK.The MRCS exam is going to be a waste of time and money in 2 years time.
For entering the SPR training you do not need MRCS from 2007 if you have completed your foundation years 1&2 in UK.
From 31st December 2005 you should have CCBST(Certificate of completion of Basic surgical training) before applying for the SPR post even if you have your MRCS or FRCS.

My Fantastic MRCS Part-2 Experience, On 16th of Jan 06

HI.....
I just got back home yesterday evening after appearing for the MRCS part-2 exam (wat is better known nowadays as the IMRCS clinical-problem-solving paper), at a London centre...and the paper went off really well. And all those scary stories i used to hear about the 2nd paper being a very lengthy one & difficult to complete on time, well, at least they didnt seem to be realistic yesterday...and i say this all the more, cos i aint particularly a very fast-exam-paper-completer, and have on most occasions struggled to complete exam papers in time, wen others seem to hav it easy....

My MRCP Part 2 PACES Experience and Stations

I had my PACES at Reading Hospital. I must say the examiners were too nice to imagine. Off course all the candidates are coming after full preparation,but these are the examiners who keep them on the track or detrack the candidates and this centre's examiners were among the first group. Bias (Racial?) in Intercollegiate MRCS Clinical Exams

I don't know how many of you guys (Non-Whites) have faced this situation during your exams, but I have come to know from my close friend that there seems to be a bias in the Royal College of Surgeons England exams - Exams in which one could talk to the participants face to face i.e. Clinicals/ Viva etc....
