How to read the newer editions of old books quickly?

To read quickly through the updates in a new edition of an old book try this method. Read the preface and foreword to the new edition. The good authors make it a point to tell us where they have added, where they have changed, what they have deleted, what they have modified etc. All important changes in the new edition is known by this method. Changes not listed or mentioned will only be simple editorial changes like sentence formation changes or change in words. Refer the chapters where changes have been specified and read it preferably by borrowing the new book from regional medical library or college library.
