“Pulmonary arterial htn is when systolic pulm pressure is > 30 mm Hg . The plain film characteristically shows a large and often triangular heart. Main pulm artery and central pulm arteries r usually large and may be very large, but taper rapidly to the periphery. Rarely the pulm vessels or heart may appear normal but it is rare for the main pulm artery to be inconspicuous.

agree that tapering of the pulm artery is seen in Pulm htn, but the pathognomic sign is dialatation , no dialatation we can rule out pulm htn.
