i think its pos pr ventilation, coz when we give +ve pr it opens up the collapsed alveoli and improves ventilation.

neck flexion decreases anantomical dead space.

IPPV increases alveolar dead space by increasing ventilation in poorly perfused areas

ref:lee's 12th ed pg 251 and dorland's 28th ed pg 1548
