Following an argument with her boyfriend of three wks a 16-year-old girl took an overdose of aspirin. She was taken to the general hospital and admitted to the psychiatric unit. Four days later she threatened to punch out another girl on the unit after a verbal insult. antipsychotics, if chose from drugs.

But y not individual supportive psychotherapy?

it is a very direct method of psychotherapy with focus on existing symptoms &/or current life situations with aims of correction of situational problem, symptom rectification, restoring or strengthening defences, prevention of emotional breakdown & teaching new coping skills..

I'd go for it..
