Quick Scroll Do not consider UK 03.05.06 (2 years ago) #31

hi
im a post plabber doing a clinical attachment.
and i m totally of the opinion tht PLAB is a sheer waste of time, money and more so totally depressing and frustrating.
well when i gave PLAB 1 and 2 didnt knw much about the actual scenario..had just heard different opinions of different people...
now since there have been so many articles and surveys i think it should b an eye opener for everyone who is even giving a thought of coming to uk
come on guys, life doesnt just go with luck...and mind u..since when did luck start favouring everyone..
i feel those who are already postgraduates from their home country r benefitted coz if they dont get placements here they can always go back n start practicing.
and with the now emerging Modernising Medical Careers, i seriously warn all the doctors to not give PLAB exams...
there r increasing restrictions on everything including visas n registration...more so it is not about securing a job now...its about securing a future..
well ure welcome to correct my views...but trust me not everyone is lucky to even have people to warn them....and i really detest those who give examples of how lucky they got securing an attachment or a job...coz we need to start talking about a lifetime of employment and not a 6 month post...
all i have written is solely for the good will of others...so doctors please do not consider UK

Quick Scroll stop taking the PLAB 04.21.06 (2 years ago) #33

Hey I am in total agreement with dr kinjalmashru about the UK situation
today there is a protest march being held
and why is there a protest march?

Here is what the Guaridan has to say

Quote:
Hundreds of international doctors will demonstrate against Government immigration rules that stop them working in the UK

Under changes announced last month, all doctors from outside the EU will only be eligible to take up NHS work if the post cannot be filled by a UK resident.

The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) estimates that about 15,000 overseas doctors will be stranded in the UK with few employment prospects as a result of the change.

Previously, international doctors had not required a permit to work in the UK as long as they could show that their job involved some aspect of training

Let me repeat that FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOCTORS who have passed PLAB will be unemployed. Do you still want to take the PLAB and make it twenty thousand???

I wonder where Kanna the defender of peoples rights to take the PLAB has disappeared?

Quote:
Please note that everyone have the right to sit PLAB as they wish so I don't think it is necessary to maintain/decrease the frequency of exam. People still tend to take PLAB even though they are well aware of the situation because this is their wish and right.

If you were one of those looking forward to sit PLAB test, would you say this???

Can you tell me some Western countries where they ration exam places???

Well Kanna if it was their right to take the PLAB even though they knew the situation why is there a protest march? I am still not sure what ur ulterior motive was in promoting the PLAB exam
