Quick Scroll hi shailendra... 04.30.06 (2 years ago) #22

hi there shailendra,

1stly, as they say.....brand value matters a lot wen it comes to acquiring an MBA from an elite B-school....so there will be amny a great opportunity in life provided one passes from an IIm or similarly good B-school, wherever it be in the world. about your question about future prospects for a doctor doing an MBA fro a good college....well, though i am not doing an MBA yet, and so wouldnt be the best person to be giving you any advice....i still hav my opinion, and i'd say that...about future prospects...it all depends on what you want to do. some doctors have been known to go into consulting firms, some into investment banking, some into hospital administration, some into the pharma industry, and again, so who prefer not to do an job at all, but start up a business, entrepreneurial style. so you can see, with a respecteable MBA , options are endless. but one thing remains steady, if its an MBA from a top B-school, your prospects are very very bright. its upto you to decide which direction you wanna go.

you can also ask a few of the members out here, some of em who are in fact doctors studying/passed out of IIM's....they'll be able to give you a 1st hand info on this particular question of yours. any more questions, feel free to ask.

Hi shailendravyas,
The answer to your query has been put up excellently by Simba. Just adding my two cents:
If you pass out a good B-School, it depends what you do with your life. And if the degree is from a mediocre or low ranked b-school, it will depend on what life does to you!
