Quick Scroll the triple mirror! 11.30.03 (4 years ago) #2

triple mirror examination uses a Goldman's three mirror contact lens! icon_eek.gif

its a an instrument for examining fundus of the eye,esp the most peripheral part! icon_smile.gif

the instrument consists of a central contact lens n 3 mirrors placed in a cone, each with a different angle of inclination! icon_eek.gif

its also known as Goldman's goniolens.

this is an important test to rule out retinal pathologies n is usually considered as must, esp before planning for any interventions like photocoagulation, etc! 8)

also bcos this gives a very clear view of peripheral retina, this is very useful in early diagnosis of the detachment! icon_surprised.gif

ref khurana under biomicroscopic examination of fundus! 8)

Quick Scroll rd 11.30.03 (4 years ago) #3

goniolens.....has 3 mirrors positioned strategically...so that visualisation of post. pole of retina and the equator is possible. it is used to investigate a c/o rd! i feel the answer..here would be gonioscopy..which is of no value in case of rd!
