elevated hemidiaphragm is only suggestive of an u/l diaphragmatic palsy.

Fluoroscopic sniff test ,where paradoxical elevation of the paralyzed diaphragm is observed with inspiration, is used to confirm chest radiographic findings in cases of unilateral diaphragmatic paralysis.

paradoxical inward movement of the abdomen during inspiration is more clear in a bilateral diaphragmatic palsy & is usually difficult to interpret in unilateral cases.

sniff test sounds most appropriate here.
