pls post your replies.



1) 24-year old lady came to A&E after taking OD of paracetamol following the break-up of a relationship with a boyfriend. She gives a history of sexual abuse, had 3 previous ODs, has scars from DSH, had 2 pregnancy terminations. Assess and manage ----something like that.....
Probes: how would you assess suicide risk, short term management, long term management, psychological management, would you admit and why, what you would like to achieve in this admission

2) 55yr old man charged with making obscene phonecalls by police. GP referral. Wife says he lost his job a year ago and hasn't been the same since. Probe questions related to sexual history and risk and the eventual diagnosis was impotence with some questions on management of impotence and risk of re-offending.

I think she is a PD 'borderline'???
Admission if adviced would be for OD management & then she should be followed up by Psychotherapy as Pharmacotherapy has very little role to play in PD's. But first she should undergo Personality testing i guess
