if one takes a loan , wouldn`t it spell trouble while applying for a visa..since we have to show all bank statements.

A visa counsellor told me taking a loan is ok if one is going through GRE ...Avoid showing it for USMLE .....for the VO it is a warning sign that the applicant may stay in US after residency to recover the loan taken.

Hmmmm.... but i dnt agree completely. Visas for both r different and applications are assessed on different planes. In GRE it is mandatory to show 1 years finance, while for CS visa financial ties r just a means to show our non-immigrant intent. Plus the loan amount for MLE is too meagre by US standards.

Taking a loan might weaken d financial ties wala part, which in itself is not a gr8 factor unlesss u have properties n funds running into big amounts, but not too seriously.

I guess if u have no other option than loans, u should go ahead with it, cos even if it has a negative impact on ur visa chances, it would be slight. I know quite a few people who took loans for MLE n got visa too. So be positive yaar... icon_wink.gif icon_lol.gif

P.S. Remember, this visa thing is very unpredictable and depends on 1000s of things. So try to get d maximum factors ryt. Just chill and relax about the ones which u can't... n hope for d best.
