I am in US on a tourist visa that will expire at the beginning of August. I met my fiancé 7 months ago while I was visiting some friends and we fell in love right away. We decided to get married and a month ago we send an application for a fiancée visa, thinking that I would be allowed to stay in the country and then get married. We just found out that’s not the case and that I will have to go back home and wait there for a response and go to the embassy in my country to get my visa. They said that it might take up to 7 months and we are desperate now. That’s too much ! Looking on some websites, I found out that getting married on a tourist visa is ok, as long as I wasn’t planning on entering the US to get married. We met a few months after I entered the US and we can prove that. We only have 2 weeks left until my tourist visa expires and we’re thinking to get married right away. Would we have problems ? We already sent the papers for the fiancée visa. Is there any way that we can stay together ? Please help us ! Thank you.
