Hi,
Couldn't find serbian forum, but maybe you can help. How can I find out if someone visiting the U.S. temporarily, and claiming first to be a doctor and then an intern, truly is what he says he is? Does anyone know if an intern could take 6 months off during an internship to stay with an ailing friend?
An acquaintance of mine met someone over the internet who claimed he was a doctor in Serbia. Now he claims he's an intern. He is going to stay with my acquaintance, who has cancer, in the U.S. until Dec. I think he is up to no good and would like to know who I could contact to see if he is either a doctor or intern.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Once you finish your last exam in Serbia (and throughout the former Yugoslavia) you get your Diploma (Degree). Having passed this step, the next one is a one year old internship. Once you finish your rotations, you have a state exam (something like a licence exam) organised by the Ministry for Health. Once you get this, you may practice medicine independently!
That's the whole "magic".

Hi,
Just to update, not long after this posting the gentleman with cancer died and he had changed his will to leave 1/2 his possessions to the "Serbian doctor" and the other half to a friend who showed up just as he was dying. The serbian man tryed to catch a plane before the funeral but was unable to get a flight. I have no further info about the person, and cannot get a last name.
Thanks.
