Quick Scroll Paper application will become history! 09.07.06 (2 years ago) #1

ECFMG has removed the option of doanloading and printing Paper application material. Now only option available on ECFMG website is IWA, ie online application, according to latest ECFMG newsletter.

If u need to apply on paper application, u'll have to send a written request to ECFMG for it.

ECFMG 2007 INFORMATION BOOKLET / APPLICATION MATERIALS ARE NOW AVAILABLE

The ECFMG 2007 Information Booklet and application materials are now
available on the ECFMG website at
Only RxPG members can see links here! Register or Sign In!
You can use the 2007
materials to apply for:

- USMLE Step 1/Step 2 CK eligibility periods ending in 2007
- USMLE Step 2 CS

The Interactive Web Application (IWA) is now the only version of the application materials available on the ECFMG website. ECFMG will continue to maintain on its website the version of the Information Booklet that you can download and print. However, ECFMG will no longer make available on its website the version of the application materials that you can download and print.

By making IWA the only version of the application materials available on its website, ECFMG is encouraging all applicants to use IWA to apply for examination. There are many advantages to applying through IWA. IWA validates that every required question in the application is answered, decreasing significantly the possibility that the application will be incomplete and rejected. IWA saves the information entered in the first application and makes it available for subsequent applications, eliminating the need to re-enter all the information again when a subsequent pplication is submitted. Additionally, for medical school graduates, the Certification of Identification Form remains valid for a period of five years after it is accepted by ECFMG. During that time, the applicant may apply on-line for an examination without submitting another paper certification. IWA is secure, easy to use, and available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Applicants who may be unable to apply on-line must write to ECFMG to request paper application materials.

The 2007 Information Booklet includes important updates related to ECFMG Certification. An enhancement to IWA, expected in early 2007, will allow medical school students to use the Certification of Identification Form to apply entirely on-line, as described above. Additionally, it is expected that scheduling permits for USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK will transition to electronic documents. For more information on these changes and other news, refer to Certification News in the 2007 Information Booklet.
