is an application 'on hold' a sign of hope? or just a subtle way of rejection???

Well..I think, the 'on-hold' status is rather equivocal..
Some Hospitals dont actually consider the application
complete without the MSPE which isnt released before nov 1..
but as long as you havent got a rejection, thts good news..
So hope for the best..and keep your fingers crossed

hey its been abt a month sinc ei applied to programs..on stp 1 score only..which was not very encouraging.s.o i applied to most community progr/middle rated ones..but no news of interviews (have taken step 2 this week.will take cs in dec mid.)
shoudl i call them/email them or keep waiting..and also pl tell me abt transitional yr programs.is it a good thing to apply to and what r the visa requirements etc..pl help me

Hey docjyo, its pretty tough to get calls this time arnd even with a good resume. I've just got a couple as yet. How many programs did u apply to? Its a good thing to call 'em up regarding the status of your application if you didnt get a rejection letter. But since the applicant load is huge, it might take longer than usual for the programs to decide abt the candidates they wanna meet. so wait until next month and maybe call 'em up then. Good luck

hey i have got one rejection from a hosp in NJ..and another hosp also in NJ first sent an invitation and the next day they say taht they r still reviewing ppl s applications and the mail was sent by mistake and they will inform later ..i havent heard from any other hosp yet.. i applied to abt 20 programs.all of htem internal medicine.. step 1 score wasnt very good..so i applied to middle rated prgrams..i hope atleast some of htem wil call me..coz mos tplaces where i applied said they have no min score requirement.some evn sai dthey take ppl with passing scores..so considering htat mine in higher 80's should be able to fetch some interviews..i do hope..hey waht od u think abt transitional yr and preliminary posts
