Hey docs..read it somewhere that the state of illinois requires a 4 week Psychiatry training as a prerequisite to be eligible for residency there..Is that right? If so, what kinda training is reqd? kindly enlighten me..God bless!

hey guys,i've heard one needs a 4wks training in psychitry for applying ti illinois.is it that we have to do a training or what postings we did during MBBS can count as that???

It is true, you need 4 weeks training in Psychiatry to get the Illinois licence.You need 4 weeks during your internship or at least 2 weeks of Psychiatry and 2 more weeks where you saw psych.patients lets say in your internal medicine rotation.
