Orbital mass with proptosis, increases on bending forward, no thrill/bruit. MRI shows retro-orbital mass with enhancement with anechogenic(hypoechoecic)shadows and hyperechoeic shadows ?

this q was asked in all india-----the ans is orbital varix

there's another question--------"postitional changes on exopthalmometry' are seen in----
a. graves ds
b.varix
c. meningocele

the ans is a) graves ds

can any1 explain me the difference between positional changes in degree of proptosis" v/s "mass which increases on bending'???????

Devira.... Excellant Query...I feel --both the ans u provided r absolutely right....

The first one--- Proptosis on bending forward without bruit is Varix for sure......


But I think u feel the 2nd one can be Varix too, right..... Till now I couldn't find much on this except that " except that Exophthalmos is the term used specifically for the proptosis seen in Grave's ds.. Will see n let u know as soon as possible......
