It has to be great of course.. Because the present Professor - Director and Head of Microbiology
in JIPMER
, Dr Subash Chandra Parija did his MD there. His book on Parasitology is authoritative and the first of it's kind in India... There is a living testimony to that college.

Hi drmou,
I think BHU
has a good Micro dept, for the simple reason that some of the best microbiologists in India did their MD at BHU
. But I am not aware of the extent of lab facilities available there. I am also not sure of the variety of clinical speciemens available there. Still, doing Micro is a personal choice, and has nothing much to do with the institution.. Because my personal opinion is that the institution has very little role to play in learning subjects like Microbiology
.

Hi doc_cru,
I very much agree with what you say. I never knew such work culture existed in colleges which offer pg education!! Am surprised. Anyway, what I actually meant was that self study plays a great role. Nothing more..considering the fact that I did not have such useless colleges in mind when i typed that message. As aap said, bench work is extremely important..
And, Puducherry is the official new name of the erstwhile Pondicherry, a Union territory in South India. This name change was effected by the Central Government on October 1, 2006.
Have a great day!!

Hi,
In spite of living in Puducherry, I did not apply for it. Thought of doing it next year. As of now I do not have any idea about the mode of selection. If I come to know anything about it, I will definitely message it to you....
