Results are quite depressing. the percentage has indeed gone down this year!

The reason is because for the first time this year so many IMG's got positions in the first iteration. Overall more IMGs got matched this year than any year before.

I couldnt find the statistics of first iteration. So cannot comment on that.
there were IMG positions left unfilled at the end of first iteration. dunno why. and these were not filled up at second iteration! they were mainly from university of Ottawa in Ontario and universities in Quebec. dunno about the other provinces.
i must say second iteration didnt work well with IMGs. first iteration seems to be all the more important! The number of IMGs participating in the match has significantly increased this year. so the percentage matched might have gone down.

This year, 229 IMGs matched in the fist iteration (out of 1486).

where did you find this info? in the carms website?
so its like this-

15.4% of total applicants matched in 1st iteration.

so it has marginally increased!
combining the two , i mean 1st & 2nd- the percentage almost reaches 20%!

yes, go the match "report" section.
About the percentage that you are emphasizing; I know the situation is far from ideal, but overall it's getting better. I don't think they are responsible to give positions to IMGs based on the number of applicants. Next year maybe 3000 IMGs apply; it's not reasonable to expect them to open 600 new positions for IMGs to keep that percentage high.

not at all..... you got me wrong....... i was just trying to find out the figures. thats it! infact 20% is not bad at all.
