Hey Buddies
I asked DnC in order to rule out previous abortions in first trimester due to molar/pl hydrops/chromosomal anomalies which all are risk factors for subsequent dev. of PIH ..hope i clarified my point..
also one imp info is second trimester abortions are protective factors against dev of PIH
and these are the other Risk factors
Women who are pregnant for the first time. There is also an increased risk in a subsequent pregnancy if there is a different father.
Women who have had PIH in a previous pregnancy.
Women whose mother or sister have had PIH.
Women younger than 20 or older than 40.
Women who are pregnant with more than one baby.
Women with medical conditions like diabetes, existing chronic high blood pressure, kidney disease, scleroderma or lupus.
Women who were malnourished at the start of pregnancy.
Women carrying a baby with a chromosomal abnormality.
Women who are overweight.
Women who are African-American
Chao.

dr broken ht;
I don't agree with you on that ,as molar pregnancy is a risk factor for PIH in the same pregnancy not in subsequent pregnancies.
and in this case the pt is @ her 36 w impossible to be molar p .

yes dr moony i agree with the fact that you pointed out ..but i am wrong in considering DNC for the reason that its a very vague factor in the history needs lot of explaination.. yes i am changing 2 responses based on the fact allergy is part of standard gen. enquiry of preg patients and fever to rule out sepsis...
