ANP is atrial nitriuretic peptide hence it will cause nitriuresis..

ANP causes reductuion in blood volume and there for B.p

Lipolysis and renal sodium secretion and excretion are also increased.
Over all effect of ANP on the body is to counter increases in blood pressure and volume caused by renin- angiotensin system.

Renal.

. increases the GFR
. Decreases sodium reabsorption .
Inhibit renin secretion, thereby inhibit renin- angiotensin system.
. Reduces aldosterone secretion by adrenal cortex.

Vascular.

Relaxes vascular smooth muscle in arterioles and venules.

Adepose tissue.

. Increases the release of free fatty acids from adipose tissue.
. Activates adipocyte plasma membrane typw A guanylyl cyclase receptors.
