if u r goin for concepts i would suggest das
For gen surgery Das is THE book even better than Bailey or the best would be a combination of the two
For git i used das only but some topics like renal stones bph & prostate ca or peptic ulcers are endless in das and very very time consuming
Moreover surgeries of gall bladder and gastric are a bit difficult to understand without any help
Das requires lot of devotion while mainpal could be finished in a week but retention from mainpal is good because of the mnemonics etc
ultimately you have to
Choose whichever u r comfortable with

but if you want to help your third year studies to count

when you prepare for pg then make sure that you read

Bailey all topics at least once

i didn't and now im regretting my decision

i used das initially and then went on to Bailey for a

week or two

ultimately crammed from manipal
