Quick Scroll CT Test Question 04.06.06 (2 years ago) #1

Hi, I'm 25 years old suffering from headaches for almost a year now,
The headache isn't so bad but it makes me worry.
My doctor thought that it's something on my nose ,So I had a CT scan couple of monthes ago, The result was that everything is OK.
I looked at the CT scan and saw something weird a brighting [no ads please] the center of my head(the link to that picture is below), I really don't know what it is and if thats a Tumor or something normal like density nerves.
Please help.

That high intensity spots probably be "pineal calcification".

A previously reported pilot-study showed that the degree of pineal calcification (DOC) correlated positively to the incidence of chronic daytime tiredness as well as the subjective perception of sleep disturbances (Kunz et al. 1998).

There is a study suggesting that DOC might be useful as an indicator of an intra-individual, decreased capability of the pineal gland to produce melatonin. (Neuropsychopharmacology (1999) 21 765-772)

Nothing to be worried that much, if it does not occur in individual younger than 18.

Thanks about the replay,
I asked neurologist and she said its probably pineal calcification like you said, But suggest me to do MRI test to clear everything out.
About the sleeping, I sleep really well, Prehaps too well icon_smile.gif
But I'll try to find the paper to read and learn more.
Thanks a lot,
Yossi.
