Hi dr plz let me know whether 10 a 1 dr are joined service since last jan2007 are eligible this special qualifying exam or not?. and i joined march 2007... in mobile unit.. more than 300 drs are there.. we are all eligible or not..

as per the commissions notification "Applications are invited upto 5.45 p.m. on 05.11.2007
only from the 153 Contract Medical Officers and 1352 Contract
Medical Consultants who were appointed on consolidated pay of
Rs.8000/- p.m. and subsequently appointed temporarily as
Assistant Surgeons with effect from 01.11.2006 vide G.O. (Ms)
No.302 Health and Family Welfare (B2) Department
dated 20.11.2006 and 30 Assistant Surgeons continuing in Service
temporarily without being selected by the Tamil Nadu Public
Service Commission for regular appointment in the Special
Qualifying Examination conducted earlier and who are continuing
in Service as Assistant Surgeons temporarily in the Tamil Nadu
Medical Service as on 28-08-2007 in the time scale of pay for
regularisation of their temporary services in the post of Assistant
Surgeon.
only CMO s CMC s and 30 prevoisly selected 10 a 1 candiadates who failed in special TNPSC are eligible to apply.this notification is purely base on the GO G.O. (Ms)

dated 20.11.2006,.you may get doubt by the wordings "and who are continuing
in Service as Assistant Surgeons temporarily in the Tamil Nadu
Medical Service as on 28-08-2007 in the time scale of pay for
regularisation of their temporary services in the post of Assistant
Surgeon." in the notification. but the clear and literal meaning is of the above mentioned 153+1352+30 total 1535 candidates who come under the purview of above GO many would have discontinued service for various reasons. so out of the above 1535 candidates those who are continuing in service till 28.08.07 are alone eligible to appear .their applications would only be forwarded to TNPSC by DPH. even if we take in your point of view if 10 a 1 candidates are allowed for this exam then the words those seleceted by 10 a1 and continung in service are also eligible to apply should be mentioned in the notification. if u still have doubt contact DPH office directly. DD office people may not know properly.and also visit

Those doctors Who had joined
1. In TNHSP
2. In CEmONC
3. In Mobile Medical
4. In GH after undergoing PG as a part of Bond

are not eligible

However, you can also apply to the Government and ask yourselves to be included

I want to join service..I completed internship last year ..can i apply for this exam ....after three years of service will i be elligible for 50 percent quota for MD/MS?
