CHECK YOUR ORKUT SCRAPS, GMAIL, YA HOO! MAIL & MSN HO TMAIL AUTOMATICALLY
If you use firefox, there is a handy extension which will allow you to check these altogether.
It will check the scrapbook and mailboxes regularly and will notify you.
You can download the extension "Webmail notifier" from here,
The developer of Webmail Notifier, Byungwook Kang has added a script in that page.
Click on "Edit" and click "Select All" then Right click and "Copy" it.
Open up Notepad and paste it in notepad, Save it as a text file. (eg: orkut.txt)
Now rename that text file to orkut.js
...
Now go to the webmail notifier icon in your firefox statusbar and right click on it.
Select "Preferences", Enter your master password if you have set one.
In the menu that opens up, click on "User script" and the click on "Add"
An "Open" box will pop up. Direct it to the orkut.js file you have saved in your PC.
Thus "orkut.js" will be added to the Userscript list.
Now go back to the webmail notifier preferences. You will see "Orkut" in the drop down menu.
Select "Orkut", enter you User Name and Password and press "Add".
Thats it you're done. Now your firefox will automatically check for new orkut scraps.
Google recently updated Gmail into a new version.
Sadly webmail notifier is having some compatibility issues with this version.
To use this extension on Gmail, you need to switch to the older version.
The older version is not that "old" or outdated as it sounds. It works n looks fine.
Step:1.To switch to Older version of Gmail, Go to your mail box.
Select "Settings"
Select Gmail display language as "English (UK)"
Save the changes.
Now you can use Gmail in webmail notifier with ease.
Step:2.To add Gmail to the webmail notifier, Go to webmail notifier preferences by right clicking on its icon. You will see "Gmail" in the drop down menu.
Select "Gmail", enter your User Name and Password and press "Add".
Restart firefox.
Use the same method(Step:2) to add Ya hoo Mail and Ho tmail in the notifier.
