how are these fractures classified???

Its should be a grade 3b case.
classification of compound fractures :
grade 1 - wound size <1cm --> clean,small puncture wound with lil soft tissue damage.Its a low energy fracture

grade-2 - wound size >1 cm but less than 10 cms.

grade 3 a - >10 cms --> adequate coverage possible.

3 b - bone exposed abd severe comminution

3 c - circulation is impaired due to arterial damage.

no, according 2 same classification answer should be type 2
though the fracture is segmental , in Gustilo and Anderson classification, it is not mentioned anywhere about segmental fratures. so logically tough it is segmental fr. one is compound and other is closed so better 2 define it as type 2 which consists of 1-10 cm skin wound. in mcq there is no mention about periosteal stripping so avoid it classifying type 3b
