hi friends,
i m trying to enter in Psychiatry here after my MBBS. but in one of the hospitals thought they accepted to take me as attachee, they are taking so much time to process it. it is already more than a month now since they said, and they say that it may 2-8weeks more to complete the formalities.

i filled in the CRB and occupational health forms, no checks yet. i was said that consultant also had to fill in a form for this. i wonder that the medical staffing lady, being a new one in that posts doesnt know needed to thing and hence the delay.

if someone know the requirements for that kindly tell me, so that atleast i can guide her in this.

is any one of the member an sho in psych, so that they can influence my attachment in their hospitals if possible.

thanks yar, take care
vinu

Dear vino,
It is becoming harder indeed to have an attachement in Psychiatry .
The CRB and occupational health checks are mandatory in many trusts now.
in some other time, paying for the attachement was common and even paying for the occupational health check!

it takes time, one months is not much.
it usually takes about 2 months for things to be sorted out.

it is good that they accepted your application and started processing your papers,

unfortunatley, if you contact many hospitals now, they ask you to call back after 6 months or say that they don't accept attaches anymore.

all the best with your attachemet.

cheers
