I want to appear for NIMS2008 for radiation oncology? what books do i have to read considering the fact that out of 150 questions 75 will be from radiology? and there is only one seat for radiation oncology? also is the radiation exposure so great that it will affect fertility? somebody studying at NIMS please help also is it true that NIMS is better than OSMANIA for doing POST GRADUATION

Oh, I haven't seen this post before,,,,,,,,just astonished to see that it was posted almost 5 months ago.

Truely speaking I don't have any idea about how to prepare for NIMS orthopaedics , Anaesthesia or radiation oncology but heard that competition is bit lower than for internal medicine.

I prepared for internal medicine. so I can tell u something about this....

a. Basic questions from standard text books are asked ........definitions of diseases and conditions should be well versed.

b. Previous mcqs from AIIMS , AIPGE and other entrances are routinely asked

C. Added to that there will be diagrams, flow charts, pictures, graphs, instruments used in surgery etc etc which u find them in standard books are asked

d. There will be mutliple choice questions with multiple answers like UPSC and pgi type

e. There will be assertion and reasoning type of questions too of UPSC type

f. Clinical scenarios like that of asked in USMLE type are also found

g. stains used for several bacteria , fungi etc etc are asked

h. Any standard question of Anaesthesia , orthopaedics , radiation oncology,Pathology can be the question of internal medicine question paper and vice versa

i. There is only one seat and around 600 students compete...........of that only one will be lucky enough to get............ I am talking about internal medicine

when u go to write exam..........just go and do well and don't expect that u will get seat ..........any one who is better than u and performed better than u will be getting the seat.............. and it may be u too or me too........

freinds the best person to advice is none other than dr pritham bishoi, who is doing rad oncology in nims. he had written a book on appg entrance in 2006.he is a freidly guy. pl go to nims and take appointment with him.

he was a old bhatia student also.partho ,you are sure to get relevant information from him.dr inayat already briefed in general.
