Quick Scroll UG india,PG any foriegn country, Is Private practise as spec 01.15.08 (11 months ago) #1

hi..after reading so many posts on this topic,am again asking the same question..

am sure there r so many of us who have done MBBS from India, and are willing to do PG from a foreign university.and are worried,if we can work here LEGALLY after coming back as a SPECIALIST..

ok.we all know that in this situation,we cant work in a govn hosp/teaching institute as per the MCI rules..

now what i understand with all the posts on this topic is,it is allowed to do private practice as ur MBBS is MCI registered, but with the foreign PG ,can WE work as a SPECIALIST(radiologist,surgeon)............ LEGALLY..........

has anyone actually confirmed with MCI,or has any documented proof, any email reply from MCI.
plz do reply here ,so that all of us know for sure the answer of the question.

You can even practise as a Cardiologist with your MBBS. Problem comes along when you are faced with litigations. Even writing of degrees not recognised by the MCI on your nameboard is against the norms of MCI and your name could be permanently removed from the MCI Register. So think properly before you embark on any PG degree thats not recognised by the MCI.

With the given competition in India and the exorbitant fees levied by pvt colleges, PG from abroad is an option. But not a legally sound one.

Dr. Firaz

The PG qualifications from 5 countries are going to be recognised shortly, namely, UK, US, Canada , Australia and New Zealand . It was said by our health minister recently. How quickly thats going to happen is a big question mark with the MCI (Most Corrupted in India) at the helm of medical affairs in India.

Dr. Firaz
