hey..i wanted to go in physics n got admisson in st stiphen...bt den came in mbbs..i wnt to swich over.i hav my uncle in iis as professor.vat s better in ds situation?phd from iis,MMST or givin GRE ...plz help............

i vote for phd from iis.
iis is the best institute and phd is the best degree....as compared to GRE path /MMST
try to choose a topic in phd that would help u land research fellowship or post docs at US univ.

thanks a lott frnd...4 da confirmation..i m doin final year...final mb is 3 months ahead.......act ly i was much more excited at 1st by seein MMST ....bt now learnin u r right.hey can we discuss 1 thin...look...in past after phd o post doc u hav 2 go either in teachin(with not ample money)or get a job in comp.bt now it s totally changed,atleast i know it in geology...my uncle is a prof from j.u n he gets numerious projects to go abroad in every year n also goog amt of money.is ds s applicable in biophysical reaserc also??hope u also agre dat money,speed,n passion 4 reaser-all are of same importance.....

If you are really interested specifically in Medical Physics, I think US is the best option. Research involving Medical Physics requires a dedicated source of funding, which is not avl. in India. I dont think they offer a Phd in Medical Physics at IISc, though some MR-related projects were going on there some time back.. a lot of US Universities do offer it though. GRE is a good option, and then you can get in touch with the Professors there about the work they are doing.
