I think MCI recognition is not important. lots of opportunities for doctors outside india (especially in radiology), i have enquired lot about that. what we need is a certificate of training from a reputed hospital. i can't keep a degree of :
MD Gen Med (Recognised by the Medical Council of India)
and practice all nonsence (having been trained from an idiotic hospital)

hi king... sorry dude i am off this site for sometime as i have been preparin for MAHE exams... i went thru ur post... the information tht u've got is very much true... it is not just the craze of gettring a ROYAL COLLEGE FELLOWSHIP, but it is the value it has.. moreover u will have very bright career oppurtunities in corporate hosps and if u have plans of goin abroad then u'll have good oppurtunities in countries like Gulf and other europian union countries.... But as far as i am aware, it doesnot necessarily require a postgraduate degree from these institutes... it states that " BASIC MEDICAL/SURGICAL TAINING IN THESE INSTITUTES FOR A MINIMUM PERIOD OF 2 YEARS"... THIS MEANS YOU CAN EVEN WORK AS A RESIDENT IN THESE COLLEGES/INSTITUTES FOR 2 YEARS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR FELLOWSHIP.. All u'll need is a certificate of work experience, a log book to be maintained by yourself and attested by HOD and a letter of recomendation by your chief and preferably from college... it would be prudent if u get involved in research and try to publish papers on that... i said all this because i know a person who has done FRCS after MBBS and presntly in singapore... he had just worked as a resident... so, all the best and PLZ WISH ME THE SAME...
