hi guys!!
i ve recently finished my final yr MBBS exams, but i am not sure whether i must pursue my higher studies with USMLE
or with indian entrances..
there r lot of doubt regarding the USMLE
.
1. does USMLE
provide u with a pg seat in US or its just the licence to be called as a qualified doctor in the US.
2.does visa come ur way to get to US? and wt r d repercussions of nt gettng a visa?
3.can i prepare for USMLE
as well as indian entrances at the same time or how diff is Mle from other entrances wrt prep, the courses offered, etc.
u can guide with these first, i have more ,i can come with them later
thanks

Buddy thats a common dilemma and it seems you need the basic info yet. There have been ample discussions on these forums that would help your cause. Just take some time to sift through them.
You can start from these two links as starting points.

hi ,
let me ans u in short.
1.USMLE
helps to get licence . then u can work in anyparticular state showing your licence.
for PG in US , u need USMLE
score+ some work experience + SOp + LR's etc.
2.few people get visa easily but few don't. so no one can say anything clearly about visa. but in case u have cleared 1-2 steps for USMLE
and u r sure that rest is not far off , you can apply for visa's like student visa etc. rejection rate is less in student visa. i know many people hwo got it.
3.i think u can't preapre for USMLE
n AIPG togther. because high yield for AIPG is different and for USMLE
its different.
i will suggest you to study for AIPG and once its over , then it will take max 6-8 weeks to complete studies for USMLE
1.
all the best.

Kaurdoctor thats a short and sweet summary, a good one.
I'd just like to point out that even though i personally agree that 6-8 weeks is good enough after AIPG but many people have found it difficult to score well in USMLE
when in hurry. So assess your abilities and plan accordingly.
