MCI screening test is very much like DNB preliminary. From last Dec NBE has introduced negative marking in DNB preliminary but not yet so in FMGE . Here are some of the books that can help you preparing.

Salgunan MCQ book.
SARP series all subjects.
Mudit Khanna Vol 1 and 2
OCHM – Oxford handbook
OHCS – Oxford handbook

If you can master these books I am sure you will pass FMGE easily.

Those with more time in hands read your basic textbooks.

Concentrate more on Ophthal, OBG, Social and Preventive Medicine. These subjects can fetch you a lot of questions. I am not saying to study just these subjects, what I mean is DO NOT IGNORE THEM. I know that Anatomy , Physiology and Biochemistry would give concerns to a lot of you but if you can study SARP series on these subjects well you can answer a lot of questions. After all we are trying to get more than 50% without negative marking, so relax guys 

If you can prepare for FMGE well that will help you with AIPG / USMLE / PLAB / AMC later on, so do not consider it as a disadvantage..

All the best.
Cheers

i studied basic subjects with my classes, with the notes which my teachers provided me in the classes then i started studying mudit khanna from last year i never found it hard to understand theory from mudit khanna, plus its increasing my knowledge in a rapid speed coz it has got almost all the important topics inside it ,and the points which we should remember in specific topics.
i think fo me its better to study books like mudit khanna & amit ashish rather than all 19 basic subject books, and one more thing you can never get enough from a book in just one reading you have to revise it too so........take care
