Hi,
I was shocked to read the TNPG 2008 prospectus that Most of the non clinical and clinical courses are exclusively reserved for Service Candidates. This is terrible. What does this indicate? Non service candidates cannot do Post Graduation...

Main courses like Pathology , Anaesthesia , radio diagnoses etc etc have been reserved only for service candidates

That is true, but only with regards to non-clinical courses and some clinincal courses currently. But it's clearly plausable that next year or during subsequent years, leaving only a very few courses or may be non, all others will also be reserved only for service candidates. If thats going to be the case, then AIPG will be the only way to get into TN colleges.

well i dont think so.

the rule refers to the odd seat which cannot be divided as to who shud get it(service or non-service).to solve the problem they have decided to give the odd seat to service candidates.

hope i am not wrong.

think i am wrong .

Real scenario of tnpg -914 seats(includes diploma courses)

407 seats given to all india quota

remaining 407 seats filled through TNPG exam.

3% seats for handicapped quota(ie)13 seats

so 407-13=394

out of 394 seats, certain specialities like radiology, anesthesia, non clinical=150 seats(including diploma courses DMRD,DMRT).These are reserved for service candidates only

so 394-150=244

Out of 244 seats,122 seats go to service candidates.

so 244-122=122

so only 122 seats(incl.diploma) for REGULAR candidates through this TamilNadu PG ENTRANCE EXAM

in this 122 seats,we have reservation based on caste & religion etc.

looks like the govt wants us to work as service candidates. this is like indirectly forcing people towards it . One side they support students saying no need for compulsory rural internship.. other side they force to do service as service candidate.

Exactly Dr Prasan..... That is the attitude... Number of Post graduates is reducing after AIPG seats was raised from 25 % to 50 %....

So they have resorted to this method.....

I have heard that few other states give 50 % of Open Seats to AIPG where as TN gives 50 % of All seats to AIPG and so they are forced to do this tactic

Quick Scroll 150? seats only for non-service candidates? 03.04.08 (10 months ago) #8

out of the 450 (914/2) seats filled thru TNPG entrance exam,
should we subtract 150 seats before or after 50% service quote?

is it:
450-150=300/2 = 150? seats only for non-service candidates? May be i didnt read the prospectus correctly.

some one please throw some light on this - i am writing in this forum on behalf of someone else, pls apologise if i am not correct.

Can you ask your exact doubt. I think the above post by
kuttinguru is clear (though we need to check the numbers)
