Hi MD Forensic medicine through AIPGE you can get upto 3000 rank in an OK college .. For BHU around 2300, for Delhi colleges within 2000 is required.. In Karnataka through PGET of RGUHS you need to be within 500 for a government college( atleast this time it was the case).. through Comedk you might get upto 1000 rank i believe for a fee of Rs 1.5-2 per annum..

Hi, presently there is lot of shortage for faculty in departments of Forensic Medicine in private colleges all over India. Private colleges are offering attractive salaries to get faculty. The Karnataka Govt has hiked the salary of Asst. Prof to around 35000/mo at entry level ( roughly). Private colleges offer this and many other perks. The job you've to do in Private colleges is mainly academic with few or no autopsies to be done.

There is a small risk. I have heard there is a proposal before the MCI that Forensic Medicine to be taken away from undergraduate syllabus. In that case, the demand for Forensic experts in academic side may go down. Though many Professors of Forensic Medicine I consulted say this will not happen and this is impractical, I would request the moderator of this section to clarify this doubt.

in private colleges only for academic purposes the dissection is shown. medicolegal cases can be done only in govt mortuaries. though i have heard of a pvt mortuary in bombay,,, how far is it true i do not know.

is it possible for one to become a ballistic expert after doing MD Forensic ? also what are the scopes of Forensic odonto-osteology and Forensic Pathology in India and abroad?
