last year, according to the SOVA Analytical Information Centre in Moscow, and police said 20 foreigners had come under attack this year.

Dear AnandKumar,
20 or 27 proven racial killing/attacks per year is hardly enough to label a country or region as racist.

I don't disagree with u that racism does exist in Russia
. However, so does it in other countries even well developed ones like US/UK/Australia
where I am sure, it's much worse.

Racism exists everywhere... this is a fact every student (especially Asians) shud take into account and be prepared for when he/she attempts to go for studies abroad.. it would be foolish not to consider or ignore it completely, but this does in no way imply that students should not try for studies abroad just becoz of the fear of racist slurs/attacks .

i completely agree with you jaws 17 , with some minor incidents happening here and there no country can be labeled racist , moreover though we live in a bit fear its normal for any foreigner to live in another soil , as far as i know these people aren't that bad , bad people live everywhere , its true that we live in fear may be its unnecessary , just think human went to moon knowing that there is no air to breath and didn't stop with that even planning to reach mars , why other nations take our great India few days before i read in an news article that India may send a probe to mars and possibly a human to moon , but Russia is just a few hours away , here in Moscow alone iv seen too many Indians , Malaysians and other nationalist live peacefully , so forget all those fears if you wish to study medicine in this great nation that too a very good & the best friend of India , opportunities are too many utilize those , as muba said Russia is a good alternative .

moreover the teachers here are great and friendlier is easily notable , they all know more about India and respect and love us a lot .

Bottom line, education in Moscow is getting better, with Modern equipment and techniques being introduced in many hospital. It is hard to differentiate many hospitals from European one's already. But unfortuantely its not cheap anymore, when it is going to cost about 25 lakhs every single thing included for 6 years, any new under grad will have to pay about 35-40 lakhs in my university for 6 years everythin included. I think thats why no Indian has joined here for the past 2 years. My Uni is the Russian State Medical University [M2] Still cheap in other places of Russia

Sometimes alot of factors have to be considered. You cannot base your judgment of a college based only it's fee structure. If the college charges high fees, it is probably because it provides great infrastructure. While selecting a college, all things should be considered. A little more funds can be invested in college fees if the infrastructure and quality of education is better than other colleges. It's an investment.
