its ok dr leila it hasn't got anything to do with the allocation coz when we applied we were not asked about PLAB
or anything they asked about registrationwhich obviously alll of us didnt have at that time so we all got allocated but we have to show it before getting the post..u know most of the people who got allocated didnt even pass plab2 and they r planning to do it now

Dear friends,
thank you all for your replies. It has been helpful. The thing (which I forgot to mention in my previous post) is that I am actually studying medicine in an EU country and due to graduate with an EU medical degree (if everything goes well) in summer 2008.
According to GMC'S website and I quote, I HAVE to pass the PLAB
test IF my primary medical qualification (PMQ) is from a A COUNTRY OUTSIDE UK OR EEA AND a national of a country from outside the EEA or are a national of the UK.
Thus, come summer 2008, in a nutshell, I would be a non-EU doctor, with an EU medical degree as my primary medical qualification.
So, from my understanding of the above statement which is taken directly from GMC's website, I probably DO NOT have to sit for the PLAB
test because I have an EU medical degree even though I do no have EC rights. Thus, I only meet only one criteria and GMC's website specificly states that both of the criteria must be fulfilled.
Does it make any sense to you guys? Well, what do you guys think of GMC's statement on its website? Anyway, I have emailed GMC about this issue and I am currently, waiting for a reply.
and yeah, another question. So, are those NON-EU with an EU medical degree considered IMG's or EU-MEDICAL GRADUATES?
i look forward from remarks from your good selves.

well guardian I am quite aware that I need a work permit. Anyway, that wasn't the issue. The main issue which I am concerned at the moment is that the need to do the PLAB
or not as an EU graduate without EC rights.

One question,
Does an EUROPEAN (for eg British) who studied in a country outside EEA (eg. India) need to do the PLAB
test too? Would he/she be then classidfied as IMG as their primary medical qualification is outside UK/EEA?
