Quick Scroll Went To Stage 3 Today... 03.12.08 (10 months ago) #1

I went to Wales Deanery Stage 3 today

Kindly do not ask me for specific questions / scenario as these will not help you or me and it is against Good Medical Practice. What I can help you with is to inform you on some relevant facts and what to expect :

1. Have documents checked , copies taken , given a badge with your candidate number on it & your picture taken which is the easiest bit. Tip : Just say cheese icon_smile.gif
2. Briefing of what will happen during the day and given some statistics: 422 Candidates applied for Wales. 280 invited to Stage 3. Total number of jobs 151 . So there will be 151 lucky ones, and 129 will not be offered a place.
3. Coffee break 20 mins & showed around the place ( rooms where your assessment will take place)
4. Half an hour of written assessment ( similar to SJT)
5. Coffee break 20 mins
4. 20-30mins Role Play station ( Simulated Patient) . Several different cases were used today for the candidates covering common medical conditions.
5. 20-30 mins of Group Discussion.
6. Debriefing. Questionaire. Go home.
7. Result be out on Friday 14th March 2008. The wait is by far the worst part but never mind, 3 more nights and 2 more days then I will know my fate.

Overall, asssesments were very fair, but it depends on how you performed during the day as well as how the others performed too. Everyone today seemed to be doing very well. So I dont know :-O I just hope I would belong to the lucky 151 group.

All the best , you can do it icon_smile.gif

But there is a coffee break between Role play and Group discussion.

PS: Let me know how you did. Waiting for results is indeed nerve wrecking
